Hi, I’m Lisa Jensen, website designer, trainer, consultant and coach. I started my own business in 2004 after leaving a 13-year career in software that required weekly travel. I hold a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Washington, with an emphasis in Information Technology.
My background includes over 15 years in software consulting, training, sales, marketing, and coaching software sales presentations, and 8 years as a small business owner designing websites and teaching clients how to develop and implement an internet marketing strategy.
When I left the corporate job, I had plans to take a few months off then look for another full-time position. I volunteered with several organizations and put my technical consulting skills to work helping my husband with his contracting business and re-designing his website. I found my experience in technology consulting and sales presentations was a perfect background for helping small business owners with their on-line presence.
Why I work with Coaches
I shared with one of my first website clients, life coach Nancy Carlstrom, that I had thought about coaching as a future career. As a manager in the corporate world I enjoyed “coaching” employees to greater performance. Working with Nancy and other coaches I have found that many people who are brilliant when it comes to understanding and helping people, are often not as comfortable with computers and internet technology. I enjoy learning about my clients’ coaching programs as I help them with the technical side of their business. Again, a perfect fit! An added benefit of working with coaches is you are fabulous at giving feedback and valuing the work I do for you!
Why I work with Consultants, Professional Service Providers, Contractors and others
Most of my business comes through referrals. My experiences in different professional fields, expertise with technology, and connections that come through involvement in many areas allow me to provide a unique level of professional services that might otherwise be unavailable to the typical small business owner. Unfortunately, many new business owners have had a negative experience with a web designer or SEO company. They now place a higher value on working with someone they know or a trusted referral. It’s a pleasure to help them understand their options.
Design and Training Philosophy
I encourage simple, logical website layouts with a clear message, using tools that clients can eventually work with themselves. I also help clients understand search engine optimization so we can design site content and communication plans that help or improve their “organic” placement in search results.
